Aimed at 10 to 16 year olds this five day course - two hours daily. Start time 10am, Monday to Friday runs each week of the summer from start June through to the end of August. With a maximum of 8 kids per instructor, the emphasis is on safety and fun. Kid’s camp is a great way to introduce the kids to surfing in a fun and safe environment with other children of their own age.

Each day starts with suiting up at the surf school and heading down to the beach where the instructor will begin each day’s lesson with a brief introduction to a different surfing related topic. With the theory out of the way, it’s into the water and surf, surf, surf. As the kids usually pick up on the basic techniques and style faster than older age groups, we encourage trick moves and water based games so they can really get the most out of their week!

Repeat customers, do not worry. The kids will definitely not be bored. Every day the surf is different due to wind, tides and wave size. These factors combine to produce different conditions for a new challenge each day.

This is our kid’s camp taught through Irish, places and dates are limited so early booking is advised.

We provide full length 5mm Ripcurl wetsuits and if needed, boots, hoods and gloves for the younger children who may be sensitive to the cold but usually by midsummer a wetsuit is all that is needed. We also provide sunscreen which is essential to surviving a sunny day at the beach!

Each student will be allocated a correctly sized wetsuit according to their needs. Surf boards have a soft outer lining to which prevents injury. Surf boards may be changed as the week progresses according to the student’s development.

Each course begins on a Monday and finishes on a Friday. Numbers are limited so pre-booking is essential. Kid’s camp courses can only be booked by phone @ 086-8695396 or by calling into the surf school.

The five day course costs €100 per student. When pre-booking a place on our kid’s camp courses; a €20 euro deposit per student is required 1 week prior to the start date of the course. This should be sent to West Cork Surf School, Inchydoney, Clonakilty, Co. Cork. No deposit means no guarantee that your place will be kept.

We are now running kids camps courses through the months July + August on the small beach in Ownahincha just a mile from Rosscarbery. Start times are 10am and 1pm and students are required to be at the school at least 15mins before the lesson starts.
